Welcome back everyone,

So, I do realize that today we were supposed to go visit a spectacular new world. I really do. But we had been running low on supplies and in the spirit of adventure I went to find a new supply shop. After all it’s important to branch out and different stores carry different kinds of supplies, and the more variety we have the more worlds we can visit! Well, the good news is I did in fact get some different supplies. Very different supplies. They are so very interesting and unique, and I don’t think I’d find anything like them anywhere else. But uh… I don’t think they will help us explore new worlds. Or old ones. Truthfully maybe don’t try to use them at all. Unless you like a challenge, they would be great for a challenge. You’ll see what I mean. Ahem, presenting!

Almost What You Need: Your Unfriendly Local Inconvenience Store

Enter in through the slightly too narrow entrance and be sure to duck beneath the hanging bells that are just a little bit too loud and be greeted by rows and rows of items that are almost what you came for. The signs for each aisle duck ever so slightly below the top of the shelves, putting them just out of sight unless you are at the end of the aisle. They have kindly placed baskets to carry your purchases next to the door. So close to where you come in, I almost tripped over them. Be careful casually carrying delicate goods in them though, the handles are slightly off center making them tip pretty easily.

Their signature products include:

Chipped Cookie Cutters: These cookie cutters come in assortments of incredibly cute shapes with a complimentary decorating book with easy-to-follow instructions for how to decorate your delicious treats. The cutters themselves are missing a small piece out of the blades, making each cut almost cut out your desired shape. Which is annoying. But the designs are SO. CUTE.

Linger-Taste Glasses: Sturdily built mugs, delicate wine glasses, and hefty tankards, enjoy your favorite drinks longer with a guaranteed aftertaste with every sip. The aftertaste is not particularly pleasant. In fact, it made me kind of want to wash my drink down with something. Which made me drink more and well… you can see where this goes.

Insect Spray: An incredibly effective bug repellant. It repels 99% of all insect pests you may encounter, guaranteed! Unfortunately, it attracts the last 1%. There are numerous varieties that let you decide which harmless insect you want to attract while using it. I advise against trying the free samples unless you are sure you want to. They don’t wash off easily. I had caterpillars and dragonflies following me around the rest of the day.

Two of Three Silverware Sets: Beautifully made silverware sets that are sturdy enough to be passed on for generations. They come in the following sets: Forks and Spoons, Knives and Forks, or Spoons and Knives. Designs for each option are completely unique! Meaning you can never have a full set of silverware with the same design.

A Little Too Slim Clothing Line: These enchanted clothes magically adjust themselves to the size of their wearer, meaning you never have to worry about outgrowing your favorite shirt again. Unfortunately, they adjust themselves to be a half size too small.

Any many more somewhat inconvenient items!

Honestly, I’d be tempted to call this place a joke item store. But none of it was silly enough to be a joke. Everything was just… barely annoying? The workers at the shop certainly thought it was funny as I hunted, with determination, to find something genuinely usable. I did not succeed. In fact, I spent far too long becoming increasingly distressed by everything I found. It was truly impressive how they could find so many ways to make items that just didn’t quite work.  They are certainly a group of out of the box thinkers. Admittedly I was starting to think it was madness that anyone shopped there. However, they did eventually tell me that most of their customers are looking for gifts for people they don’t like. I don’t think I’m their intended clientele. Anyway, that’s why I didn’t have enough time to get real supplies. But I promise that next time we will visit somewhere new and more than what we need! Or just what we need? I think I might need to go take a nap. Until next time.
